Artist and co-director of Loft 6D
Christina Marie Ashmole (b.1990) creates work in response to her life growing up in the Middle East and merges it with the culture, or lack thereof, of her English father and Filipino mother.
Ashmole explores the idea of transnationalism, place, and identity. With these themes, she creates bridges between a multi cultured society using fragments of her upbringing to build a body of work that questions the notions of nationalism, belonging and the importance of these now, in a time of hyper-connectivity and globalisation.
